Welcome to the homepage of RDSS, the free application with a wonderful database of Raman data (Raman bands) with an exact search function and Raman spectra with references which contain assignments of the Raman peaks. This application derive from an online database entitled Romanian Database of Raman Spectroscopy (RDRS). RDSS is freeware, enjoy!

RDSS description:
- RDSS application is a freeware application, it is published under an End User License Agreement. User must agree this EULA before downloading.
- Donations are encouraged.
- Provides a Raman database fully manageable;
- Raman Data Search and Storage application offer a complex and exact search function of Raman peaks which cover for now Carbonates class and it is in development;
- The core of the GUI is the bottom, where two tabed panels contain two tables. First tab named Primary Table contain a table designed to have commons columns like: sample no., mineral name, chemical formulae, main peaks, other peaks, reference, external link and comments. The second tab named Secondary Table, contain a table designed to have a more specific columns for logic search: mineral name, 200 - 600 cm-1, 600 - 900 cm-1, 900 - 1200 cm-1, 1200 - 1500 cm-1, 1500 - 2000 cm-1, 2000 - 3000 cm-1, 3000 - 4000 cm-1, external link, comments and reference. The first and the last three columns are linked with those from Primary table for structure reasons. In the green fields below the header of each column, a search function is implemented to find a specific value in combination with asterisk character (*) as a placeholder for 1 or more unknown value(s) for which software it tries to find the best match(es). For example if you search with *484* in the Other peaks column – notice how one row remain in the results table. The reason is the single row with that value at the specific column that you searched. Also, you may narrow your search by pressing Ctrl+f on your keyboard and a search dialog opens. This search dialog have three options: Case sensitive, Wrap Search and Backward. For best matches, the Case Sensitive and Wrap Search box must be checked;
- In the left-upper part of the GUI application, a Raman spectrum shows when a specific row is clicked in the First and Second Table. In other words, every mineral row is linked with a Raman spectrum. This is vital when the user wants to see the assembly of the Raman peaks, which is very strong, medium, weak, shoulder or even overlapped;
- This program is written in JAVA and requires Java Runtime Environment from http://java.com.
When using the data or any information from the Raman Data Search and Storage (RDSS) application please provide in your publication or presentation the corresponding reference of the data and also the reference text of this software:
